Verizon iPhone 4 Passes 1 Million Sales

Verizon Wireless has sold over 1 million Apple iPhone 4 devices. About 60% of the sales were preorders, which is why the retail lines were a bit small on launch day. Not bad considering that 1.7 million iPhone 4s were debuted last year. Another reason why there wasn’t a larger number of sales is because some people are holding out for the iPhone 5 due this summer. [The Street]

My guess is that it will be available in the next few weeks. Maybe Apple is planning to announce its availability around the same time as the 2011 Mobile World Congress conference to steal some of the hype around February 14-17.
