TweetDeck Updates Mac App

TweetDeck Mac App

Twitter has updated the TweetDeck Mac app.  The update includes a redesigned sidebar on the left for easier navigation across columns.  The new TweetDeck Mac app also has drag-and-drop rearrangement of columns in the sidebar, tweet translation, filter interactions (mentions, retweets, favorites, followers, and lists).  You can also filter search columns by engagement (minimum number of retweets, favorites, and replies).  You can download the free TweetDeck app from the Mac App Store now.

Twitter May Stop Updating Twitter For Mac App

TechCrunch columnist MG Siegler has a source saying that the Twitter for Mac app will be ending soon.  The application won’t be killed off completely and users will still be able to download it.  This is unfortunate because the Twitter For Mac app is unstable and seems to crash a lot so I reverted back to just using Twitter on the web.  The Twitter For Mac app also does not support Retina Display on the new MacBook Pros.  If you still prefer to use desktop software for Twitter, I would definitely recommend using TweetDeck.  TweetDeck is constantly updated with new features.

However the developer of FolderWatch may also have just updated the app based on rumors that Retina Display was coming to Mac displays. However Apple approved of the update with Retina graphics as being the first bullet point and we all know how much Apple scrutinizes every app that gets submitted to their app stores.
