RUMOR: Apple To Manufacture Mac Mini In The U.S.

Apple is rumored to be bringing the Mac Mini production to the United States through their partnership with Foxconn according to Digitimes.  Foxconn has around 15 operating bases in the U.S. and tow of them include factories in California and Texas.  Those two facilities work on the finishing assembly of partially assembled products.  Foxconn denied plans to expand to Detroit, but they did confirm that there are several U.S. based facilities in place.  Mac Mini shipments are expected to hit around 1.4 million units in 2012.  At a lower volume than many other Apple products, the Mac Mini makes a great candidate as a pilot for manufacturing in the USA.
