Steve Jobs Movie To Be Filmed At The Original Apple Garage
Five Star Feature Films is filming a made-for-TV movie about Apple CEO Steve Jobs called “Jobs: Get Inspired.” The movie will be starring Ashton Kutcher as Jobs in his youth. One of the locations for the movie is 2066 Crist Drive in Los Altos, California. This was Apple’s original company headquarters before they moved into their Cupertino campus. In the garage, the first Apple computer and the Apple II was built.

Socialcam Raises Funding From 46 Angel Investors
Socialcam is an iPhone app that spun off of video sharing website Justin.tv last year as part of Y Combinators winter 2012 class. Socialcam has raised seed funding from 46 well known angel investors. Socialcam’s fiercest competitor is Viddy. They have been fighting back and forth as the top Photo & Video app recently. Socialcam has reportedly surpassed the 20 million user mark. Ashton Kutcher To Start Filming Steve Jobs Movie Next Month
Earlier this month we wrote about how Ashton Kutcher would start filming a movie about Steve Jobs. The movie was written by Matt Whiteley and Kutcher would play Jobs. The title of the movie will be called Jobs: Get Inspired. It will cover the life of Jobs between 1971 and 2000. This was about the same time period that the Pirates of Silicon Valley movie focused on. Kutcher was selected because he had a resemblance to a young Steve Jobs. Filming will start next month and they have plans for a Q4 release. Sony Pictures grabbed the movie rights for Steve Jobs’ life based on the biography by Walter Isaacson. That movie is not expected to be released until a year or two from now.

Ashton Kutcher To Play Steve Jobs In Indie Movie Called “Jobs”
Ashton Kutcher has been given the movie role to play Steve Jobs in an upcoming indie movie called “Jobs.” The movie is written by Matt Whiteley and it will focus on Jobs growing from a hippie in his 20′s to a media conglomerate in his 50′s. Mark Hulme is financing the movie and it will start being filmed in May when Kutcher is taking a break from “Two and a Half Men.” Sony Pictures is developing a Steve Jobs movie on their own based on Walter Isaacson’s novel.

Fab.com Raises $40 Million, Now Valued At Over $200 Million
When Fab.com originally started, it was a social network for the LGBT community. Now the website is a flash sale website with 72-hour deals. The company has just raised $40 million in funding from Andreessen Horowitz and is now valued at over $200 million. It was only about 6 months ago since Fab.com switched from being a gay social network.

MemSQL Raises $2.1 Million From Multiple Investors
MemSQL has raised $2.1 million in seed funding from First Round Capital, New Enterprise Associates, Start Fund, SV Angel, Y Combinator, Ashton Kutcher, Paul Bucheit, Sam Altman, Guy Oseary, and several others. MemSQL will be using the funding to move into a new office in downtown San Francisco. MemSQL is an in-memory database system that is 30 times faster than relational databases. MemSQL focuses on online transaction processing.
Rumor: Airbnb In The Process Of Raising Over $100 Million
Airbnb is close to raising over $100 million based on a valuation of over $1 billion. This round is being lead by Andreessen Horowitz. Participation is expected from DST. Airbnb’s last round of funding was about $7.2 million and included Sequoia Capital, Greylock, SV Angel, Ashton Kutcher, and Youniversity Ventures. Airbnb launched out of Y Combinator.
