The BlackBerry Z10 will go on sale with AT&T starting March 22nd. The Z10 touch-screen phone will start appearing in U.S. stores starting on March 22nd said sources with Bloomberg. BlackBerry receives about one-fifth of their revenue from the U.S.

General Motors has announced today that they plan to deliver a new generation of connected cars and trucks that have 4G LTE mobile broadband integrated into them. The first vehicles to have 4G LTE built-in will be most 2015 Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac models available in 2014. The 4G LTE will be powered by AT&T. GM plans to announced more carrier and supplier relationships in the coming months.

AT&T is planning to launch a home monitoring service to 8 markets in March 2013. AT&T’s home monitoring service will let you protect and monitor homes using smartphones, tablets, and PCs. The home monitoring service is called “AT&T Digital Life.”
AT&T has announced their Q4 2012 earnings this week. The company reported revenues of $32.6 billion, which is an increase of 0.2% year-over-year and an EPS of $0.44. AT&T sold 10.2 million smartphones and they activated 8.6 million Apple iPhones. Wall Street was predicting an earnings per share of $0.46 with revenues of $32.2 billion in revenue for the quarter.
AT&T has bought a batch of 700 MHz B band spectrum from Verizon Wireless for $1.9 billion in cash. The 700 MHz licenses will cover over 42 million people across 18 states including California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Louisiana, Montana, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming. AT&T will receive Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) spectrum licenses in 5 of those markets. The spectrum purchase will “complement [its] existing holdings in the 700 MHz B band and will allow AT&T to continue to deploy 4G LTE services to meet demand for mobile Internet services on a wide array of smartphones, tablets and other devices.”
AT&T has made a deal with Atlantic Tele-Network to acquire their retail wireless operations. Atlantic operates under the Alltel brand and they have sold their retail wireless business to AT&T for $780 million. AT&T will gain ownership of Atlantic Tele-Network’s wireless properties, licenses, network assets, and retail stores. AT&T will also get roughly 585,000 of Alltel’s paying subscribers.
AT&T has announced that they have hit a smartphone sales record. The company sold around 10 million smartphones in Q4 2012. This beats a record of 9.4 million one year earlier. AT&T said that their success is due to the “best quarterly sales of Android and Apple smartphones.”
AT&T has sold a sold number of smartphones in the courth quarter already. The iPhone 5 and Android devices are driving the sales. In terms of Android, some of the most popular devices include the LG Optimus G and HTC One X according to AT&T Mobile CEO Ralph de la Vega. In the first two months of the fourth quarter, AT&T sold 6.4 million smartphones.
