Microsoft Announces HTC TITAN, Samsung Focus S, and Samsung Focus Flash Windows Phone Devices

At the All Things D Asia conference, Microsoft Windows Phone President Andy Lees announced a new line of Windows Phone powered devices coming to AT&T. These devices includes the HTC Titan, Samsung Focus S, and Samsung Focus Flash. The Focus S and Focus Flash have 1.4GHz Sandragon S2 SoC processors. The Focus S has a 4.3″ Super AMOLED Plus Display and the Flash has a 3.7″ Super AMOLED screen. The Focus S has an 8MP rear facing camera and the Flash has a 5MP rear facing camera. AT&T Approached MetroPCS, Leap, Sprint, and Dish Network To Sell Spectrum In Order To Protect T-Mobile Deal

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has talked to several smaller rivals including MetroPCS Communications, Inc. (NYSE:PCS) and Leap Wireless International, Inc. (NASDAQ:LEAP) to sell spectrum and subscribers. This is in order to save AT&T’s acquisition of T-Mobile USA for $39 billion.

AT&T $25 GoPhone Plan Starting September 18th

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has announced a new monthly plan that provides 250 anytime minutes and unlimited messaging for $25 starting on September 18th. Other prepaid services that are launching includes a $10 international long distance package which includes 250 minutes within a period of 30 days and per-use roaming in Canada at $0.39 per minute, $0.25 per message sent ($0.20 per message received). AT&T Creates A Plan To Convince Justice Department For Allowing T-Mobile Merger

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) will be pitching some new ideas to the Justice Department to receive an allowance to purchase T-Mobile for $39 billion. If the deal does not go through, AT&T will have to pay T-Mobile’s parent company Deutsche Telekom about $7 billion in cash and spectrum resources. One of the ideas is that AT&T would have to sell 25% of T-Mobile’s business and airwaves to make the merger feel like less of an antitrust issue. “AT&T is pretty determined that they can find a solution, and they are pretty confident,” stated an anonymous sources with Reuters.

HTC Jetstream 10.1-Inch Honeycomb Tablet Coming To AT&T On September 4th for $699.99

The HTC Jetstream 10.1-inch Honeycomb tablet is coming to AT&T on Setepmerb 4th. Features include HSPA+ and LTE connectivity. The operating system is Android 3.1 Honeycomb and the screen size is 10.1 inches. This tablet is the first device to have Sense UI on Honeycomb. It has a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, 1080p video capture, and 1.3 megapixel camera up front. The tablet has a Scribe pen and it will be free for a limite time. The device costs $699.99 on a two year contract starting September 4th. [This Is My Next]
U.S. Justice Department Attempting To Block AT&T and T-Mobile Merger

The U.S. Justice Department has filed a lawsuit to block AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) to merge with T-Mobile. AT&T proposed a $39 billion acquisition of T-Mobile USA. The Justice Department believes that the acquisition of T-Mobile would “substantially lessen competition.” The complaint was filed in a federal court in Washington. “AT&T’s elimination of T-Mobile as an independent, low- priced rival would remove a significant competitive force from the market,” stated the U.S. in a filing.

AT&T Vice President Confirms To Several Employees That The iPhone 5 Is Coming In Early October

An AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) Vice President has confirmed to several employees that the iPhone 5 is expected to launch in early October. “Expect things to get really, really busy in the next 35-50 days, so prepare your teams accordingly,” said that AT&T VP. AT&T: Unlimited Texting or 20 Cents Per Message, No Other Options

AT&T has confirmed that new customers will see different options when signing up for a texting plan: either you pay for unlimited, or you pay by the text. The new options are an unlimited texting plan for $20 a month, an unlimited family texting plan for $30 a month, or paying 20 cents for each text sent. Picture and video messages will cost 30 cents per message for those who forego the unlimited plan. CNET reports that the change takes place on August 21st.
AT&T Installs 4G LTE Equipment In Apple Stores As A Test

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has installed LTE-equipment in Apple retail stores to test out LTE-equipped iPhones. One piece of the equipment supports only the 700MHz and AWS bands that AT&T plans to use if their T-Mobile acquisition passes.
