WATCH: “Evolution Of Mom Dancing” With Jimmy Fallon and Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama, the First Lady of the United States, is going on a two-day national tour to celebrate the third anniversary of the “Let’s Move” initiative.  The cause is focused on kids getting up and fighting obesity.  The First Lady kicked off the tour by going on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.  Jimmy Fallon and Michelle Obama put together a skit called “Evolution of Mom Dancing,” which is a parody of Judson Laipply’s “Evolution of Dance” video.

President Obama Signs Executive Order To Seek Defense Against Cyber Attacks

U.S. President Barack Obama signed an executive order that seeks better protection of the country’s infrastructure from cyber attacks.  Cyber attacks are a major concern to the economy and national security.  The order enables the government to share more information with private industry partners and develop a new framework of practices to reduce cybersecurity risks.

President Obama’s State Of The Union Address Will Be Enhanced With Charts And Facts

Tonight President Obama will be giving his State of the Union address.  When watching the State of the Union, you may notice that it will have social media integrated into it like never before.  ”When the President addresses the nation, the White House will provide something you can’t find anywhere else: an enhanced version of the speech that offers charts, facts and other info as the President speaks,” said Macon Phillips on the White House blog.  The enhanced version of the address will be streamed on YouTube, Google+, Facebook, Hulu, UStream, iPhone apps, iPad apps, and Android apps.

President Obama To Conduct Google+ Fireside Hangout On February 14

President Obama will be heading a joint session of Congress tomorrow night as part of a 200-year tradition of delivering the State of the Union to Congress.  He will follow that up with a a Google+ Fireside Hangout by taking questions online after his speech.  President Obama’s Google+ Fireside Hangout will be taking place this Thursday at 4:50PM EST.

President Obama Appoints Vint Cerf To The National Science Board

Earlier this month President Obama had announced his intention to add Vint Cerf, the Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist at Google, to the National Science Board.  The National Science Board has 25 members and they are the governing body for the National Science Foundation.  The group also serves as an independent body of advisors to the President and Congress regarding science and engineering policies.  Cerf and his colleague Bob Kahn are considered “the father of the Internet.”  Vinton Cerf was responsible for the funding and the formation of ICANN from the beginning.
