You may know Zynga as the social gaming company behind hits like Zynga Poker and FarmVille. Zynga has started preparing to create gambling games and they spent around $75,000 lobbying for it. The company filed preparatory paperwork in Nevada for the gambling games according to The Wall Street Journal.
Zynga has Hasbro has partnered with each other to create board games based on Zynga’s popular titles and merging them with Hasbro’s popular games like Monopoly and Hungry Hungry Hippos. The new games will be Cityville Monopoly, Farmville Hungry Hungry Herd, Draw Something, and Word With Friends (formatted to be like Scrabble). Most of these games will come with digital values that can be used to a players’ online or mobile game that can be redeemed for Farm Cash in Facebook.
Zynga recently went public and now they are sitting on a cash pile of $1.8 billion. Zynga CEO Mark Pincus and M&A chief Barry Cottle told Bloomberg that they are looking for the next OMGPOP and they plan to do several big deals of the next few years.
