You can use the headphones to hook up your iPhone or another source via Bluetooth. The headphones have six hours of solid playback, which is intended athletes.

MOG shuts down following Beats acquisition

Music streaming service MOG launched around nine years ago and was acquired by Beats Electronics in July 2012 for $14 million. Apple acquired Beats Electronics for $3 billion last week. MOG provided subscribers a pro-rated refund and a 60-day free trial of Beats as it winds down its web streaming player. MOG was founded by Gracenote CEO David Hyman.

The Solo2 replaces the original Beats Solo headphones, which has been Beats’ best seller since debuting in 2008. The Solo2 has a completely new design, but the price is still $200.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) reportedly drops price of Beats by $200 million

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is still considering the acquisition of Beats Electronics, but the price will likely drop. Apple has cut its proposed acquisition price for Beats from $3.2 billion to around $3 billion, according to The New York Post. Even with a lower price, this would still be Apple’s largest acquisition to date.

Beats also runs a new streaming music service called Beats Music. Beats Music had 110,000 subscribers as of March, according to leaked documentation. Beats Music launched in January.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) may be acquiring Beats Electronics for $3.2 billion, according to the Financial Times. This would be Apple’s largest acquisition in history if it is true. The deal could completely fall apart though. As part of the deal, Apple would take control of the Beats hardware business and its new music streaming business, Beats Music.
