Pinterest Announces Android and iPad App To Let Users Pin With Their Camera

Pinterest is now open for all and has recently announced an event in the company’s new San Francisco headquarters the availability of an Android app and an iPad app.  ”Our goal has never been to get you in front of the computer transfixed for hours and hours on end,” stated Pinterest co-founder Ben Silbermann at the event according to AllThingsD, “it’s to get you offline.”  The new app features the ability to pin things with the camera of the device.

Pinterest Valued At $1.5 Billion After $100 Million VC Round

Rakuten is the largest e-commerce website in Japan and was the lead investor in a $100 million round of funding in Pinterest. Pinterest is now valued at $1.5 billion. Previous investors in Pinterest include several angel investors, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners and FirstMark Capital.

Pinterest Co-Founder Paul Sciarra Stepping Down


According to sources with StartupGrind.com, Pinterest co-founder Paul Sciarra is stepping down from the company in the next week or so. Paul was an original founder at Cold Brew Labs, which was established in 2008. Ben Silbermann and Paul Sciarra both incubated Pinterest through Cold Brew. The design of Pinterest is primarily because of Evan Sharp who did not join the company until 2011.
