Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) has acquired IntoNow for between $20-$30 million. IntoNow is like the “Shazam of TV.” IntoNow’s SoundPrint platform allows mobile app users to listen to a TV show and it will find a match within 4-12 seconds of listening to the audio. IntoNow will notify the user about the individual episode being watched.

Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) has announced a new “social magazine” application made for tablets called Livestand. Livestand will let you view stories that are spreading quickly through social media. TechCrunch reported that the company is laying off 20% and Yahoo! personally responded that this figure was 20%. AllThingsD is reporting that Yahoo! is going to lay off 650 people, or 10% of their total employees.
