Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) has announced a new “social magazine” application made for tablets called Livestand. Livestand will let you view stories that are spreading quickly through social media. It is expected to launch in the first half of the year. “Tablets are great for a laid back experience, but most magazine content remains trapped online,” stated Yahoo! chief product officer Blake Irving. “But consumers don’t want a digitized experience. They want a do-over. They want rich media; they want connections beyond just commenting. They want to engage with their content.” [paidContent]
