Dictionary.com has bought a language learning company called Lingt. Lingt makes languages learning easy by using games. Lingt had announced the acquisition on their homepage and said that they are shutting down their product on February 28, 2011. Lingt had received seed funding for Y Combinator in 2009. Lingt was founded by Justin Cannon and Chris Varenhorst. The acquisition details are undisclosed. [The Next Web]

MIT graduate Chris Varenhorst bought a vending machine off of Craigslist for his project: The Vendor. Chris created an iPhone application that sends messages to the server. Chris then presses a button from anywhere and the vending machine dispenses a drink. Check out the video demo below:
