Zynga To Receive Valuation Between $7 To $9 Billion After $250 Million Funding

Social gaming company Zynga is having discussions with investors about raising around $250 million in funding. This would give Zynga between a $7 and $9 billion valuation. This past April, Zynga issued stock that valued them at $4 billion. Zynga is best known for making games like FarmVille and CityVille and selling virtual goods around them. Zynga has a total of 275 million active monthly users. The company made about $400 million in profit last year on $850 million in revenue. [WSJ]
Zynga CityVille Surpasses 100 Million Users

Zynga’s newest game CityVille has passed 100 million users. The game launched only 41 days ago. Not bad. However FarmVille is has a higher percentage of daily active users as a percentage of monthly active users than CityVille. CityVille has more international users and and a younger user base than FarmVille does, but it makes less money for Zynga than FarmVille does. Despite the lower amount of money and less stickiness for daily users, the growth is still very impressive.
CityVille Officially Beats FarmVille As The World’s Largest Game

Zynga has just beat their own record with the launch of CityVille. CityVille has beat FarmVille as the world’s biggest game. And it only took 22 days. CityVille has 61.7 million monthly active users and FarmVille has 56.8 million. Zynga’s total traffic on Facebook is now 261.6 million monthly active users. As of this past November, Zynga was hitting about 198 million monthly active users.

CityVille Hits 47.9 Million Monthly Active Users In 18 Days

CityVille, the social game created by Zynga, has hit 47.9 million monthly active users in about 18 days. At this rate, CityVille may surpass FarmVille as the largest social game in a few days. FarmVille currently has 56.3 million monthly active users.
