Biz Stone stopped by the Conan O’Brien show to discuss the 5th anniversary of Twitter. Conan started off the interview by congratulation Stone on the 5 year anniversary. Stone pointed out that Twitter was often referred to as the “Seinfeld of the Internet” as in, it is a “website about nothing.” Stone took that as a compliment since he loves that show and it was very profitable. At SXSW, filmmaker Rodman Flender is debuted a documentary of Conan O’Brien. Flender followed O’Brien during his 32-city music-and-comedy show “Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television” tour, which started after O’Brien departed from the NBC Tonight Show after working there for 22 years. The documentary is called “Conan O’ Brian Can’t Stop” and above is a video clip. The documentary made its world primiere at the 2011 SXSW Film Festival on March 13th at the Paramount Theater.
As Apple started selling the iPad 2, the company has started getting cockier about their product releases. On Conan, he showed a fake iPad 2 commercial where Apple employee talked about how little they have to do to sell their products. [TeamCoco]
During the Super Bowl, Groupon aired some politically incorrect commercials. Conan O’Brien is taking the dark humor approach that Groupon used for their ads and is doing parodies of them. In the past week alone, Conan did 5 parodies of the Groupon ads. Check them out below (after the jump):
Conan O’Brien almost signed a deal with Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) to have an exclusive show on the Xbox 360 according to executive producer Jeff Ross. The deal did not end up getting signed because it was not clear what Conan would be doing exactly. Conan ended up going with TBS as a result. [GamaSutra]
A couple of nights ago on the Conan O’Brien show, Kenny Irwin Jr. of Palm Springs, California helped design futuristic Christmas decorations for the set.
