Conan O’Brien To Make A Special Halo 4 Announcement

Tonight Conan O’Brien is going to make a big announcement about Halo 4. The announcement will come from @TeamCoco or from the actual Conan O’Brien TV show. We heard about the news from tweets giving away hints about it by Major Nelson. Below is a first look video of Halo 4:

Conan O’Brien’s marketing team TeamCoco.com has launched the Team Coco Tablet Sync App for the iPad. The tablet is a free second-screen product. The app will offer 25 bits of bonus content every episode. It syncs the tablet by detecting the show’s audio using the microphone on the device. Pretty sweet, eh? Viewers will be able to sync the app to episodes that are live, from your DVR, or hosted from the app.

In the past few episodes, users of the app can access behind-the-scenes photos that are premiered within the app. The app also lets viewers interact with each other in a social networking fashion. Some of the real-time elements in the app include comments, guest backgrounds, polls, quizzes, trivia, memorable quotations, etc.

Conan O’Brien places a high value on social media for marketing himself as a brand. TeamCoco had a blimp that people could check into using Foursquare when his show first launched. He currently has over 5 million followers and 1.8 million Facebook fans. The videos on the Conan website and YouTube pages were viewed 83 million times in 2011.

Biz Stone stopped by the Conan O’Brien show to discuss the 5th anniversary of Twitter. Conan started off the interview by congratulation Stone on the 5 year anniversary. Stone pointed out that Twitter was often referred to as the “Seinfeld of the Internet” as in, it is a “website about nothing.” Stone took that as a compliment since he loves that show and it was very profitable. At SXSW, filmmaker Rodman Flender is debuted a documentary of Conan O’Brien. Flender followed O’Brien during his 32-city music-and-comedy show “Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television” tour, which started after O’Brien departed from the NBC Tonight Show after working there for 22 years. The documentary is called “Conan O’ Brian Can’t Stop” and above is a video clip. The documentary made its world primiere at the 2011 SXSW Film Festival on March 13th at the Paramount Theater.

Conan O’Brien almost signed a deal with Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) to have an exclusive show on the Xbox 360 according to executive producer Jeff Ross.
