Paul Graham, the co-founder of Y Combinator, wrote in a blog post that the seed accelerator program has hired Andrew Mason, Kevin Hale, Michael Seibel, Steve Huffman, and Dalton Caldwell as partners.  Kevin Hale will be a full partner and the others will be part-time partners.

Hooha For App.Net Is Released On Google Play

Hooha is an app that used to be known as Jive.  The Hooha app is a new App.net client that was built for the community from the ground up.  It is available as a download from Google Play.  Hooha is a simple and minimalistic app that is designed for readability.  It makes posting and sharing on App.net from your Android device easily.  App.net is a real-time social service platform that is considered a Twitter and Facebook alternative.  App.net founder Dalton Caldwell launched the service shortly after turning down an acquisition offer from Facebook.

Earlier this month App.net’s Dalton Caldwell wrote a story about how Facebook tried to buy out his company or accept the fact that the large social network would compete with him.  Ever since then Caldwell vowed to never build a business around a platform like Facebook or Twitter.  Instead he is building his own platform and has asked fans of story for developer support and funding.  People that donated $50 or more were sent an e-mail about how App.net is now in “Alpha” mode.

Marc Andreessen Steps Down From App.Net Board


Earlier this week App.net founder Dalton Caldwell wrote an open letter to Mark Zuckerberg.  Facebook wanted to buy out his company and threatened him to take it.  Facebook was planning to launch the Facebook App Center at the time and indicated that if he did not take the offer, he would feel the full force of competition from the social network.

App.net’s Dalton Caldwell Turned Down An Acquisition Offer From Facebook

Dalton Caldwell is an app developer that has claimed Facebook tried to buy out his business, but his company would shut down it in the process.  When Caldwell was called to attend a meeting at Facebook’s headquarters, he was told that he created a product that was competitive with the Facebook App Center.
