Google has replaced their head of mergers and acquisitions David Lawlee with Don Harrison. Harrison is currently a high-ranking lawyer at the company. The company is planning on creating a late-stage investment group that Lawlee will oversee. Google’s venture capital subsidiary Google Ventures will continue to oversee investments for companies at an early stage. Harrison will be leading the Corporate Development starting in 2013 and David Lawlee will work with Google on other initiatives. [Source: Reuters]

Zynga has acquired a casual gaming company called A Bit Lucky today. A Bit Lucky is known for developing games like Lucky Space and Lucky Train, which is known for having larger male audiences. “We independently both arrived at the same conclusions that there is a place to combine hard or midcore DNA with social gaming,” stated A Bit Lucky CEO Frederic Descamps.
Amin Zoufonoun, the Director of Corporate Development at Google, is believed to be joining Facebook according to TechCrunch. Zoufonoun has been working at Google since 2003 and he is the second most senior corporate development executive after David Lawlee. Zoufonoun will be reporting to Facebook’s director of corporate development Vaughan Smith. [TechCrunch]
