Earlier this month Aron Embry claimed that a Droid 2 phone exploded on his ear and he needed 4 stitches. A Motorola employee believes that the story might be different though. The Motorola employee believes that Aron may have dropped the phone, cracked the glass, and put it on his ear without noticing.

Aron Embry of Texas was using his Droid 2 phone when he heard a “pop” and his ear started to bleed. It turns out that his Droid 2 phone had exploded on his ear and the glass shattered outwards. Fortunately he did not have any hearing loss, but he did need four stitches to repair the damages. Aron’s family is considering a lawsuit. All I can say is that this is another reason why I would never buy the Droid 2. This is what Motorola had to say about the situation:

V CAST has launched their own branded mobile application store. Many people using Android phones on Verizon may have already noticed the V CAST Apps tabs under the Android Market. V CAST Apps will supposedly be their own app store and may even compete directly with the Android Market.

There has been an influx of complaints about the Droid 2 seeing a lot of dropped calls. In two test units received by MobileCrunch, the signal seems to dip from full signal to almost no signals when sitting in the same place.
