Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has acquired VideoSurf for roughly $70 million. VideoSurf is a video search engine company based in San Mateo, California. VideoSurf raised $28 million from Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg and her husband David Goldberg (SurveyMonkey CEO). Other investors in VideoSurf include Al Gore, Current Media CEO Joel Hyatt, Pitango VC, and Verizon Ventures. It is likely that Microsoft will use the acquisition to enhance the Bing search engine.
