Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg have something in common. The two of them forced out co-founders from their startups so that they could focus on building it with other co-founders. Spiegel allegedly did this with Reggie Brown and Zuckerberg did that with Eduardo Saverin. Zuckerberg saw Snapchat grow by leaps-and-bounds so he reportedly offered $3 billion to Spiegel for the company.

Snapchat attempted to settle with Reggie Brown in May

If you are following Snapchat’s recent news, they have a Eduardo Saverin-like situation on their hands. Snapchat is led by CEO Evan Spiegel. Spiegel came up with the idea with Reggie Brown. Eventually Spiegel ousted Reggie Brown from the company because he felt like he was not contributing enough. Spiegel and Brown were fraternity brothers at Kappa Sigma at Stanford when they found another brother named Bobby Murphy to help them build their idea. Snapchat has grown by leaps and bounds so Brown filed a lawsuit against the company. Murphy and Spiegel gave depositions that were leaked to BusinessInsider where they acknowledged that Brown came up with the idea for Snapchat.

Snapchat has hired Emily White from Instagram as their new company chief operating officer (COO). White has been the director of mobile partnerships at Facebook since 2011. She was put in charge of Instagram and was responsible for bringing ads to the photo social network last month.

Snapchat CEO Evan Siegel Says Ousted Co-Founder “Deserves Something.”

Snapchat founders Evan Spiegel and Bobby Murphy are being sued by ousted co-founder Reggie Brown.  Spiegel acknowledged that Brown came up with the idea behind Snapchat, but he ultimately decided that Brown could not handle being a co-founder of the company.  Spiegel, Murphy, and Brown were all connected through the Kappa Sigma fraternity at Stanford University.

Reggie Brown Filed A Lawsuit Against Snapchat Execs And Investors

Snapchat founders Evan Spiegel (CEO) and Bobby Murphy (CTO) are being sued by Reggie Brown.  Brown was one of Spiegel’s and Murphy’s classmates at Stanford University.  Brown claimed that he came up with the idea for Snapchat where messages would disappear after reading them.  New information was filed on October 23rd by Brown.  Brown is also suing Snapchat’s investors.

Report: Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg Wanted To Buy Snapchat For Over $1 Billion

According to The Wall Street Journal, Facebook was interested in buying out Snapchat for over $1 billion.  Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel was not interested though.  Spiegel and Snapchat co-founder Bobby Murphy did not need Facebook to make them rich because they already became millionaires during previous rounds of funding.

Snapchat Now Hitting 350 Million ‘Snaps’ Per Day

Snapchat is now hitting around 350 million photo uploads per day, which puts them on par with Facebook, according to Snapchat co-founder Evan Spiegel.  Spiegel announced the new milestone at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in San Francisco.
