NewsCred has raised $4 million in Series A funding led by FirstMark Capital. Lerer Ventures, AOL Ventures, Advancit Capital, FLOODGATE, and IA Ventures participated in this round of funding.

Okta is an enterprise cloud app management company that has raised $16.5 million in Series B funding. Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, and FLOODGATE participated in this round. Okta has raised a total of $28 million thus far.

Wordnik has raised $8 million in a third round of funding. Google VP of product management Bradley Horowitz has also joined the board of directors at Wordnik.

Socialware has raised $3 million in funding from existing investors which include FLOODGATE, G-51 Capital, and Silverton Partners. This brings them to a total of $4.8 million. Socialware developed technology to enable highly regulated financial services interact with clients on social networks. Socialware has about 100 customers. [TechCrunch]
