Over the weekend GameStop started letting Nintendo fans order 3DS devices. Interestingly GameStop is asking people to deposit different amounts across different locations. Two Gunmen Steal 100 Copies Of Call of Duty: Black Ops From GameStop Store

Two gunmen with semi-automatic weapons stuck up a GameStop in Baltimore to rob them of 100 copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops. The robbery took place on Saturday evening as the two waited outside during closing time. It was at the GameStop in the Festival at Bel Air shopping center, which is about 30 miles northeast of Baltimore.

The two gunmen forced employees into a storage area and none of them were hurt. There is a chance that these two gunmen were also behind a robbery at the GameStop near Aberdeen, Maryland. Police checked Craigslist to see if the games would pop up there, but nothing turned up.

Best Buy Trying Out Used Game Trading Kiosks

Bad news for GameStop Corp. (NYSE:GME) because Best Buy Co., Inc. (NYSE:BBY) will be installing game kiosks for used and new video games. The pilot kiosks will be opening up in Dallas and Austin, Texas. GameStop is based in Grapevine, Texas.

Machines at the kiosks will take your used video games and make sure that they are functional. After that it will give you a Best Buy gift card so you can go and spend more money at the retail stores. The pilot is being tested because most used game returns usually go back into buying new games.

Bees Infest GameStop Store In Union Square

Earlier this week, a swarm of bees infested a GameStop store in Union Square New York. About one thousand bees were buzzing on the outside of the door and the employees were forced to lock themselves inside. One worker put up a sign that said “Look! … closed due to bee infestation.”

It took about two hours to get help from the police. The bees had built a hive running up the wall outside the GameStop store. A neighbor of the store attempted to use a camera’s flash to lure the bees away and into a bag. Then the police bee specialist arrived at about 4PM and used a queen bee’s scent. The swarm eventually was lured into a box. Police is sending the bees to hives upstate.

GameStop SVP Bob McKenzie Says Wii Supply Is Finally Sufficient To Meet Demand

The Nintendo Wii has been around for three years. The problem with the console was that there was a lot more demand than there was a supply for those first two years. GameStop Senior Vice President Bob McKenzie believes that the company now has enough supply to meet the demand for video game consumers.

“You know, three years later, we finally have enough inventory on the shelf, and we’ve got a couple of weeks in supply of this. That’s good because we can finally determine and gauge it before we get into the fourth holiday season,” stated McKenzie.

McKenzie was also surprised by the success of some of the Wii games. For example, GameStop had no idea that the video game Wii Fit was going to take off as much as it did. EA Active is starting to pick up once again due to the success of games like Wii Fit.
