Domain name registration and hosting company GoDaddy.com has been able to avoid a backlash for previously supporting the SOPA bill. Users on Reddit asked the community to transfer domain names from GoDaddy.com to other domain name host companies on December 29th. GoDaddy started to panic and tried to convince their customers to stay by retracting their public support of SOPA and actually calling customers to convince them in staying. Aside from domain name registration and hosting, GoDaddy.com is best known for their commercials that feature scantily clad women. This is why I thought it was interesting that the company is donating $500,000 to a women’s clinic. The donation is going to the Southwest Center for AIDs in Phoenix, Arizona. The Go Daddy Women’s Health Center will be open in 2011 and it will provide HIV/AIDs prevention. [Jezebel]
