Kia Motors is going to enhance the UVO in-car entertainment system by teaming up with Google. Google products will appear in the UVO eServices infotainment system, which is debuting in the 2014 Kia Sorento. Google will provide content and search-based solutions that is enabled by APIs. The 2014 Sorento CUV will utilize Google Maps and Google Places to grab driving directions and to find Points of Interest (POIs) in a seamless way. Kia owners can send a POI or destination to their car using the Send2Car feature. Check out Kia’s press release about the new Google features below:

Yelp CEO Jeremy Stoppelman is not happy the way that Google uses reviews from his website on Google Places for local businesses. Google told him that if he does not like it, then he can choose to remove his website from Google entirely. This is not an option since Yelp heavily depends on being at the top of Google search results.

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has announced on their blog that Google Places with Hotpot is now available as an iPhone application. Google Places with Hotpot helps you find places near where you are currently located. It also recommends places for you based on ratings that you have given to other restaurants and venues. When you visit google.com/hotpot on your desktop, then you can add friends and find out what they are rating too.
