Square Hires Ricardo Reyes From Tesla and Rob von Behren From Google Wallet
Square has hired two major executives recently. They have hired Google Wallet co-founding engineer Rob von Behren and Ricardo Reyes of Tesla Motors. Reyes previously worked in communications at Tesla Motors and he will now be working as Square’s vice president of communications and brand marketing. Von Behren worked at Google for 8 years and started working on Google Wallet’s NFC initiatives back in 2009. Square competes head-on with Google Wallet and the hiring of Von Behren may lead the mobile payments company to get into NFC themselves.

Google Wallet To Expand To 10 More Sprint Devices This Year
Google is planning on expanding the tap-and-pay system Google Wallet to ten more Sprint devices this year including the upcoming LG Viper. Google Wallet VP Osama Bedier made the announcement at Mobile World Congress 2012. Google is discussing the service with several other device manufacturers, banks, and financial services.

Microsoft Says NFC Is Built Into Windows Phone 7.5, But Manufacturers Have Not Enabled It Yet
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has reported that Windows Phone 7.5 has Near Field Communication (NFC) built in to their smartphones, but none of the manufacturing companies have enabled the feature as of yet.

Verizon Will Not Be Supporting Google Wallet On The Galaxy Nexus
This is some bad news for people that have an interest in working with Google Wallet, the Galaxy Nexus, and Verizon. It is also likely that My Verizon Mobile and Backup Assistant will come pre-loaded on the device. Google Wallet is an app that lets you buy products and check out with your phone using near-field communications (NFC). Your credit card would be charged through the phone. Why would Verizon do this? Perhaps because Verizon has their own phone payment service called ISIS? [ComputerWorld]
Google Officially Announces Google Wallet
Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has announced the Google Wallet application that will turn your mobile device into a wallet. You will soon be able to use your Android device to tap, pay, and save using near field communication (NFC). Google is currently field testing Google Wallet and plans on releasing it ver soon.
