Curious.com has raised $15 million in funding. Curious.com is an education startup that lets people sell self-made and how-to video lessons in an online marketplace. GSV Capital led this round of funding with participation from existing investors Redpoint Ventures and Bill Campbell. Michael Moe of GSV will be joining the Curious.com board of directors.

Coursera Raises $20 Million

Coursera is an online education startup that has raised $20 million in funding, which means that their Series B round is now up to $63 million.  Founded by Stanford professors Daphne Koller and Andrew Ng, Coursera offers video lectures on various academic topics.  Some of the teachers that are on Coursera are at Harvard, Stanford, and MIT.

Coursera Raises $43 Million In Series B

Coursera is an education startup company that has raised $43 million in Series B funding.  This follows their $22 million Series A round from last year.  The investors that participated in this round includes Learn Capital, GSV Capital, International Finance Corporation, Laureate Education, and Yuri Milner.  Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (previous investor) and New Enterprise Associates (previous investor) and two of Coursera’s educational partners University of Pennsylvania and California Institute of Technology also participated in this round.

Discovery Communications Leads $20 Million Investment In Grockit

Discovery Communications has led a $20 million round into Grockit.  Grockit is known for creating a service called Learnist.  Learnist helps students prepare for tests like the SATs and LSATs.  Discovery and Grockit will share technology with each other and work on opportunities to market, distribute, and promote each other’s services.

DreamBox Learning is an e-learning company for students that has raised $11 million in a new round of funding. netflix CEO Reed Hastings, Kleiner Perkins partner John Doerr, Deborah Quazzo, and GSV Capital Corp. is participating in this round of funding. DreamBox has raised a total of $18 million in funding.
