Mulesoft Raises $37 Million From NEA, Salesforce, Hummer Winblad, Morgenthaler, Lightspeed, SAP, and Bay Partners
MuleSoft is a startup that can connect SaaS and enterprise applications to the cloud. The company has raised $37 million led by New Enterprise Associates. Salesforce.com, Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, Morgenthaler Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, SAP Ventures, and Bay Partners also participated in this round. Mulesoft has raised a total of $81 million.
OpenStack is an open-source infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud computing project that was released under the Apache License. OpenStack enterprise company Piston Cloud has raised $8 million in Series B funding. The Series B investors include new investors Cisco Systems, Data Collective, and Swisscom Ventures. Existing investors Divergent Ventures, Hummer Winblad, and True Ventures also participated in this round.
Influitive is an advocate marketing company that has raised $7.3 million in Series A funding. Investors in this round include Hummer Winblad, Relay Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, New Enterprise Associates, Illuminate Ventures, Resolute.VC, Common Angels, and several angel investors. Lars Leckie of Hummer Winblad and Alexa Baker of Relay Ventures will be joining the Influitive board of directors. The company plans on using the funding to ramp up their marketing, sales, and services teams.
Kiip is a startup company that lets brands promote themselves using rewards and contests. Kiip believes that by offering brands a way to offer real-world rewards for achievements in apps, it will be more engaging than mobile ads. The company has raised $11 million in funding in a round led by Relay Ventures. Hummer Winblad Venture Partners and True Ventures participated in this round also.
Kiip is an in-game advertising company that has announced $4 million in Series A funding in a round that is led by Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, Crosslink Capital, and True Ventures. Kiip has not revealed how they plan on using the funding. They plan on using the funding to “bridge the gap between mobile advertising and mobile gaming.” Hummer Winblad partner Lars Leckie will be joining the board of directors at Kiip. Widgetbox is an online community comprised of widget developers. The company has raised $12 million and renamed themselves to Flite. The third round of funding was provided by General Catalyst Partners, Sequoia Capital, Hummer Winblad, and NCD Investors. Over 120 brands are associated with Widgetbox including Microsoft and Toyota.

Aria Systems is an on-demand billing and subscription management company that has raised $20 million in funding led by InterWest Partners, Hummer Winblad, and Venrock. Now Aria has raised a total of $34 million. Aria’s platform can handle the entire online transaction process from the beginning to the end. Aria can automate recurring revenue models to manage the lifecycle of subscribers. Aria clients include Disney, DreamWorks, and Roku. Aria plans to use the new funding for international expansion, product development, and building their sales/marketing teams.
