50% Of Workers Will Be Shopping Online At Work On Cyber Monday [REPORT]

According to a survey conducted between August 16th through September 8, 2011 by Careerbuilder.com, about 50% of Americans will be spending time shopping online while at work on Cyber Monday of this year (November 28, 2011). Of these workers, about 34% will spend one hour or more and 16% will spend two or more hours. Last year 52% of shoppers shopped online while at work, 27% spent 1+ hour, and 13% spent over 2+ hours. This is based on a survey of 4,384 workers and 2,696 employers. Check out the infographic below:

Storing The World’s Nuclear Weapons [INFOGRAPHIC]
Mozy.com has put together an infographic about where nuclear weapons are being stored. I was shocked to see that 2,500 warheads are in operation and ready for deployment in the U.S. with 2,300 of them being at the Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific in Bangor, Washington. You will also notice that the country with the highest amount of stored weapons is Russia, which has 13,000 weapons across 48 storage locations.

What Social Media Is Used For [REPORT]

According to research from Pew Research, about two-thirds of online adults use social media websites like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. These people use social media services to maintain connections to family members and friends. A majority of these users utilize social media to stay in touch with family members and friends. However 14% of social media users want to connect with people around a hobby or interest. About 9% of people use social media to make new friends. It has been exactly 10 years since al-Qaeda forces hijacked two planes and crashed them into the World Trade Center buildings. A new World Trade Center in New York is being constructed. The cost of the new building is $3.1 billion and at their fastest construction workers can build one full office floor per week. It will have two reflecting pools that features a 30-foot man-made waterfall. The pools will be open all year round and will be heated during the winter to prevent freezing.
