Mickey Drexler, J. Crew CEO and Apple board member, gave an interview at Fast Company event Innovation Uncensored recently. In the interview he said that “Steve’s [Steve Jobs] dream before he died was to design an iCar.”

“Look at the car industry; it’s a tragedy in America. Who is designing the cars?” Drexler said. “Steve’s dream before he died was to design an iCar.” Steve Jobs often spent time making designs while in his hospital bed.

Towards the end of the interview, Drexler said that he has sympathy for current Apple CEO Tim Cook. “The best job to have: Take over a company that’s doing poorly,” Drexler said. “Never take over a company that’s doing great. You know, I love Tim Cook, but I wouldn’t want his job!”
