Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) and Yahoo! Inc. (NASDAQ:YHOO) has had an interesting 2008 dealing with each other. Microsoft made an offer to buy out Yahoo! for over $40 billion, but eventually retracted the deal. Since then Yahoo! has had a hard time recovering from the losses in their stock price and their has been some major employee poaching going on between both companies. The latest is Microsoft’s hiring of Kim James Woo from Yahoo!

Today it was announced that Microsoft hired Woo to run their operations in South Korea. Previously Woo was the Regional Vice President of Yahoo! and was the head of Yahoo! Korea and Overture Korea. He will become manager of Microsoft Korea starting February 1. Woo will be taking the place of Jae Sung Yoo. Yoo will be moving to another position within Microsoft.
