As an earthquake hit Japan and a tsunami quickly followed, ocean waves surged against Hawaii, Oregon, California, and the French Polynesia. Talk show host Jimmy Kimmel has been sending tweets from the French Polynesia as he was vacationing there. He wrote that on a scale of 1-10 of how scared he was, Kimmel wrote a 7 because he was on a small island with no high ground. The island is now being evacuated.

Jimmy Kimmel started a movement where Facebook users are being asked to remove friends with mundane status updates and that you are simply no longer interested in. Last week Jimmy Kimmel did a show where he declared November 17, 2010 as National UnFriend Day (NUD). He is encouraging Facebook users to un-friend people who should not be your friends. For example: if you wrote in a status message that you are moving this weekend on your status messages and you friends do not respond, then they should be removed.
