Facebook Defends Their Support Of CISPA


Facebook has announced that they are in favor of the the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (H.R. 3523), known as CISPA. What is CISPA? CISPA is a bill coming up before Congress that was authored by Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) and Dutch Ruppersberger (D-Md.). There are currently over 100 co-sponsors of the bill. The CISPA has an emphasis on “theft or misappropriation of private or government information” about four times throughout the bill. There has been a backlash about this bill just like there was for SOPA. But CISPA has support from several tech companies like Facebook, IBM, Verizon, and AT&T.

Facebook and NBC Partner To Host Republican Presidential Debate


Facebook and NBC have made a partnership to broadcast the U.S. GOP presidential debate before the primary next year. The debate will air as part of a special broadcast on NBC’s Meet the Press. The broadcast will be moderated by David Gregory. This will also be streamed on Facebook.
