Flip video camera inventor Jonathan Kaplan saw his product get killed off by Cisco Systems after acquiring the company. Now he is working on a totally unrelated business. Kaplan has started a business called The Melt.

Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) has acquired private design consulting firm Moto Development Group. Moto’s designers and engineers will become a part of Cisco’s consumer product development capabilities. Moto helped design the Cisco Flip Video consumer item. The financial terms were undisclosed, but the deal is expected to close by late July. Full press release is below.
