Psy’s “Gentleman” Video Hits Over 22 Million YouTube Views In 24 Hours

Psy is no longer a one-hit wonder.  The “Gangnam Style” singer has released a music video for his newest song “Gentleman.”  The music video for “Gentleman” has hit 22 million YouTube views in the first 24 hours.  It has been around 2 days since the video has been uploaded and it is now at over 58 million views.  Just as a comparison, Justin Bieber’s video for “Boyfriend” hit slightly over 5 million on it’s first day online in May 2012.

BillMyParents Raises $4.86 Million In Equity Funding

BillMyParents is a startup that is promoting teens to spend responsibly through the use of a prepaid SpendSmart MasterCard.  BillMyParents has recently raised net proceeds of $4.86 million following a deduction of fees and expenses that came to under $622,000 according to TheNextWeb.  BillMyParents CEO and chairman Mike McCoy said that the company will be using the funds for further development and growth.

Yahoo! Buys Stamped

Yahoo! has bought mobile recommendations app company Stamped.  This is Marissa Mayer’s first acquisition since she became CEO of the company.  Stamped is a nine-person company and five of them are former Google employees.  They will become a part of Yahoo!’s mobile product team, which will be set up in New York, led by Stamped’s three co-founders.  Stamped’s existing mobile app will be discontinued by the end of the year.  Mayer and Stamped co-founder Robby Stein worked closely together during their tenures at Google.  The Stamped iPhone app launched in November and it allows users to track and share things that they like with their friends like books, movies, restaurants, etc.

Paparazzi Charged For Chasing Justin Bieber In His Fisker Karma

Justin Bieber was stopped earlier this month for reckless driving when he was driving in the car on the 101 Freeway at 80MPH.  Bieber was pulled over in a Fisker Karma sports car by CHP officers on the 101 at the intersection of Vineland Avenue and Ventura Boulevard.

Yesterday Justin Bieber wrote a tweet promoting a 13-year-old girl that does covers to popular songs and uploads them to YouTube. Now hundreds of thousands of more people know who Madison Beer is. “wow. 13 years old! she can sing. great job. #futurestar,” wrote Bieber on Twitter. Bieber compared her YouTube videos to the ones that he used to record. Bieber helped Carly Rae Jepsen become famous the same way. Check out Beer’s video below:
