Cereal production company Kellogg’s is taking an interesting approach to exploit those who counterfeit Corn Flakes. Kellogg’s is planning to etch their logo on every single flake. Only a certain number of boxes will receive flakes that have the Kellogg’s logo etched on them. If the cereal company decides that this approach is feasible, the concept will spread even further.

“In recent years there has been an increase in the number of own brands trying to capitalise on the popularity of Kellogg’s corn flakes,” stated Kellogg’s lead food technologist Helen Lyons in an interview with The Daily Mail. “We want shoppers to be under absolutely no illusion that Kellogg’s does not make cereal for anyone else.”

About 128 billion bowls of Corn Flakes are eaten every year across the world. Corn Flakes was also the first cereal to have made it to the moon when being brought on-board Apollo 11.
