Groupon has acquired Ludic Labs, a local marketing start-up that has created services called Offer Foundry and Diddit.com. Offer Foundry is a self-service advertising and deals platform that is made for local businesses. Diddit.com is an online community where millions of users are connected to local attractions. The Ludic Labs team includes Paul Gauthier (Inktomi co-founder), and David Gourley (Endeca CTO). The terms of the deal were undisclosed. Ludic raised $5 million in venture capital funding from Accel Partners and KPG Ventures. Accel was also an early investors in Groupon. [TechCrunch]
