LifePrint’s Wireless Printer Hits Kickstarter

LifePrint is a company that is building a wireless and social photo printer for the iPhone and Android. The wireless printer weighs 1.5 pounds and measures at 6.5 x 4.5 x 1.5 inches. LifePrint went on Kickstarter to raise funding for production with a goal of $200,000. So far, the company has raised over $24,000 with 37 days left to go.

The LifePrint printer will have a complementary app that can be used for editing and sharing photos. The app will have editing features like filters and borders. You can also add speech bubbles to the pictures. There is also stitching features to combine multiple photos.

The printer can receive photos wirelessly. You do not have to be on the same WiFi network to print the photos. You can actually print photos from anywhere your mobile device has a signal. You can also friend and follow other LifePrint users so that you can print to each other’s printers. This could be useful for sharing prints with family members. You can reject unwanted photos from the print queue.

The cost to print is around $20 for 30 prints. And the printer costs $200.

The founders of LifePrint have been working on this project for the last couple of years. Depending on the success of the Kickstarter campaign, the company may start shipping tho December.
