At the Logitech Analyst and Investor Day, CEO Guerrino De Luca revealed the mistakes that the company made with the development and manufacturing of the Logitech Revue Google TV set top box. De Luca said that the Christmas 2010 launch of the Logitech Revue “a mistake of implementation of a gigantic nature.”

Logitech International SA (NASDAQ:LOGI) CEO Gerald Quindlen is stepping down after the company revealed a net loss of $29.6 million for the first quarter. The company cut the price of the Revue with Google TV device to $99. Quindlen was a big supporter of the Google TV box. Chairman and former CEO Guerrino De Luca will fill in for Quindlen while a replacement is being sought. [Engadget]

Intellectual Ventures is suing a group of companies for patent infringement. Companies being sued include Acer, Adata Technology, Asustek Computer, Best Buy, Dell, Elpida Memory, Hewlett Packard, Hynix Semiconductor, Kingston Technology, Logitech International, Pantech and Wal-Mart. According to TechCrunch, the patents deal with memory technology and methods.

Logitech has launched a new set of computer speakers that has some top notch specs for a price of about $400. The Logitech Z906 5.1 speaker set is a successfor to the Z-5500s. It is THX certified, has Dolby 5.1 decoding, 500 watts, and it has digital/analog inputs. There are six audio sources so you can connect several systems at once like Blu-Ray, DVR, Xbox 360, Wii, iPod, etc. [Logitech via Gizmodo]

Logitech has announced the Wireless Couch Mouse M515 for $49.99. The M515 gets its name because it works when you are sitting on leather couches unlike many other computer mice. The mouse uses hand detection to move around the cursor. The battery supposedly will last two years also.

When the Logitech HD Pro Webcam C910 was announced last June, the only flaw it really had was that it only worked with PCs. Logitech announced that they have made it work with Macs now. This webcam can make 720p video calls and can do 1080p local-recording. Check out the full press release below:

Logitech has told Gigabyte Technology to temporarily suspend shipments of the Revue device that streams Google TV. Logitech told Gigabyte to suspend the shipments until January 2011 so that Google TV will have time to update their software. According to DigiTimes, “Market watchers had originally estimated that shipments of Revue STBs would top 500,000 units by the end of 2010, and including STBs shipped by Sony, sales of Google TVs were expected to top one million units initially.” [DigiTimes]

Logitech is releasing a new webcam software called Vid. The vid supports several webcams. The Logitech HD Pro C910 costs about $100. The C910 has 1080p local recording capability that can also be uploaded directly to YouTube. It also has 720p video calls.
