Ford Extending MyFord Warranty Following Consumer Complaints

Ford Motor Company is upgrading and extending the MyFord Touch system warranty by two years after they received a series of consumer complaints and poor reviews.  Consumer Reports.  Ford improved the voice recognition capability and navigation in version 3.5 of the software.  Ford head of Americas Mark Field said that the first wave of updates will arrive for some users on December 10th.

Ford Names Mark Fields As COO

Mark Fields has been named the Chief Operating Officer of Ford Motor Company.  This puts him in a line of potential successors that will fill in for Ford CEO Alan Mulally as soon as 2015.  Mr. Fields will become COO on December 1st.

Ford Adding 1,200 Workers At Detroit Plant

Ford will be adding 1,200 workers to a Detroit factory to build the Ford Fusion.  This proves how strong of a seller that the Ford Fusion is.  Ford Americas President Mark Fields told workers at a plant in Flat Rock that the Fusion’s market segment is growing two times faster than the rest of the U.S. auto industry.

The new Ford Fusion is going for sale this fall.  Up until now, Ford has been building the Ford Fusions in Mexico.  Since labor contracts have lowered the costs in the U.S., the company added production to the U.S.  Ford is hiring 1,200 new workers starting this spring and is investing $555 million in new equipment at the plant.  The Ford Mustang is also built at the Flat Rock plant.

Ford Electric Focus Becomes First Pace Car For The NASCAR Richmond 400


Ford Motor Company is making NASCAR history this month by having the all-new Focus Electric becoming the first all-electric pace car to ever lead the field for a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at the Richmond 400. The all-new Focus Electric will perform all pace care duties at the Richmond International Raceway on April 28th.

2011 Ford Explorer To Create At Least 1,800 New Jobs


Shortly after announcing a profit of $2.6 billion, a 13% increase and beating expectations on Wall Street, Ford has announced the new 2011 Ford Explorer. The new Explorer is expected to create at least 1,800 new jobs including 600 auto supplier jobs across 3 states.

Ford Launches Online Suggestion Box


Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) has launched a new website called Your Ideas. Your Ideas serves as a Suggestion Box for consumers to leave feedback. Your Ideas is also a hub for automotive ideas that allow submission, sharing, reviewing, and rating.
