Bebo Founders and Shareholders Suing Criterion Capital

Bebo co-founders Michael and Xochi Birch (MXB Holdings) along with SV Angel, Michael Jackson (TV executive), and Richard Hecker have filed a lawsuit against Criterion Capital Partners, who bought Bebo from AOL in June 2010. The group of investors were persuaded to put money into Bebo after Criterion acquired the social network, but the investors are alleging that Criteron was mismanaging the website and withheld information from them.

Their filing against Bebo alleges:

- Criterion “exploited” Bebo and was “fraudulent” by “using its operating capital to pay the salaries of Criterion’s staff” including $14,000 per month to Bebo CEO Adam Levin.
- Bebo operated for 20 months and “failed to hold a single board meeting or shareholder meeting.”
- Bebo had also defaulted their San Francisco lease and moved to Criterion’s L.A. headquarters without board approval.

The investors are suing the new Bebo owners for $5 million.

Hackers Believed To Have Stolen 50,000 Michael Jackson Tracks

Sony has been hit with a major security breach. Hackers allegedly have downloaded over 50,000 tracks from Michael Jackson’s entire catalog. Many of these songs have not been released and Sony purchased them from the Jackson estate for $250 million last year.

“The attack was discovered weeks after hackers targeted Sony’s PlayStation Network in April, but was only confirmed by a Sony Music representative on Saturday,” reported the UK’s Daily Star. “Record bosses only discovered the theft of 50,000 music files when a worker saw Jackson fans chatting about it on forums.” The attack appeared to have happened last spring around the same time that the Sony PlayStation Network was hacked.

Lady Gaga became the most followed person on Twitter this past week. To do so, Gaga had to pass Britney Spears. Lady Gaga now has about 5.7 million Twitter followers.

Gaga is also #1 in terms of a living person with the highest number of Facebook Fans. She beat President Barack Obama after hitting 10 million fans. Michael Jackson has the highest number of fans today.

On Twitter Justin Bieber has less fans than Gaga but he is on more lists. Check out the video below of Lady Gaga giving a thank you to her Twitter followers:

Jackson Kids Post YouTube Video Of Their Thanksgiving

Want to know what the Jackson kids did over Thanksgiving? They gave us a first-hand look using a video from a digital camera and YouTube. Instead of having a traditional Thanksgiving meal, The Jackson kids were staying at a $25,000-per-night suite at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

The video is filmed by Randy Jackson Jr. (son of Randy) Jermajesty Jackson (son of Jermaine) is the little kid with the black hoodie. Jaffar Jackson (son of Jermaine) is the kid with the white shirt. Donte (son of Randy) is also in the video. According to Randy’s Facebook page, the kid that is yelling in the background is Prince Michael “Blanket” Jackson II.

German TV Company RTL Created Michael Jackson Hoax Video

German company RTL purposely created a video hoax of Michael Jackson jumping out of a coroner van to show how fast misinformation and conspiracy theories can spread on the Internet. The video may have had some people believing that Michael Jackson is still alive despite his passing in late June.

The video received well over 1.75 million views since it was uploaded in the last week. RTL removed it from YouTube, but several other people added the video back. Heike Schultz, a spokesman for RTL said that the video was a hoax to show how easily people can be manipulated and that the response was “breathtaking.”

RTL admitted the hoax in a report on August 26 in their daily news show Explosiv. “We didn’t want to dishonor Michael Jackson, but we needed a strong name to get this experiment going,” stated Schultz in the AP interview.

Michael Jackson’s Thriller Watched On The Net Over 8.5 Million Times Since Thursday

On December 2, 1983 Michael Jackson released a 14 minute long music video for the song “Thriller.” The Thriller music video was directed by John Landis (Blues Brothers 2000, Beverly Hills Cop III, Coming to America, ¡Three Amigos!, National Lampoon’s Animal House, and An American Werewolf in London).

On June 25th Michael Jackson passed away and the world was shocked. In order to recapture their memories of the King of Pop, they watched the Thriller video on the Internet. The Thriller music video was watched over 8.5 million times since June 25th. Old Michael Jackson songs are almost among the most downloaded songs on iTunes as of right now.

On June 27th, about 1,500 inmates at CPDRC performed a tribute. The tribute was completed in 10 hours and features the songs “Ben,” “I’ll Be There,” and “We Are The World.” This video was watched almost 3 million times since being created 3 days ago.
