Canaccord Genuity analyst Michael Walkley did some checks with U.S. retail channels and declared that the first generation Apple iPad and the iPhone 3GS is outselling new devices that run on the Google Android operating system. And the iPhone is by far the best selling devices that both AT&T and Verizon Wireless has sold.

“Interestingly, our April checks indicated continued strong demand for the iPhone 3GS at AT&T and iPad 1 at Verizon, as these older generation products with reduced prices often outsold new Android products,” stated Walkley. “We believe this highlights Apple’s significant competitive advantage, and these older products help Apple offer a tiered pricing strategy at key channels.”

When checking with several Verizon stores, Walkley found out that the 16GB and 32GB first-gen iPads were sold out in less than 2 weeks since the iPad 2 debuted. At AT&T stores, the iPhone 3GS has been selling out faster than the HTC Inspire and Motorola Atrix.

The launch of the Palm Pre in stores took place over the weekend. Piper Jaffray analyst Michael Walkley claimed that the launch of the Pre was a “solid” success. Over 50,000 units were sold in the first two days. I’m assuming that most people that bought the phone knew about the pros and cons beforehand. I tried searching for a list of the pros and cons on the web, but I haven’t seen much of a list yet. Since there isn’t much info about the pros and cons out there, below is a list of them for you.

- Tethering doesn’t work
- No ability to search e-mail
- Cut and paste has limitations
