Now You Need Windows Phone 7.5 To Access Marketplace


This afternoon Microsoft is going to make it required for you to be running on Windows Phone 7.5 to download, buy, update, or review apps on Marketplace. This change applies to the phone and web Marketplace storefronts. Most phones already run on Windows Phone 7.5, which launched last fall so most of you will not notice anything different. However if you phone has an older version of the Windows Phone operating system, you will soon start seeing an error message. If you want to update your Windows Phone version, visit Update Central.

Microsoft Says NFC Is Built Into Windows Phone 7.5, But Manufacturers Have Not Enabled It Yet


Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has reported that Windows Phone 7.5 has Near Field Communication (NFC) built in to their smartphones, but none of the manufacturing companies have enabled the feature as of yet.

Steve Ballmer Says Over 500 New Features Will Be In Windows Phone 7 Update


Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) CEO Steve Ballmer said that there will 500 new features on the Microsoft Windows Phone 7.5 operating system at the Microsoft Developers Forum 2011. Windows Phone 7.5 has the code-name Mango, which is the software that Nokia plans on using on their smartphones.
