Windows Phone President Andy Lees Being Moved To Another Division Within The Company


Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is moving the current head of the Windows Phone division Andy Lees to another role within the company. Microsoft corporate VP Terry Myerson will fill in for Lees. Currently Myerson leads the engineering division of Microsoft Windows Phone and now he will be responsible for business development, marketing, etc.

Nokia Planning To Launch Higher End Lumia and Windows 8 Tablet By June 2012


The head of Nokia France Paul Amsellem spoke to the French LesEchos newspaper and revealed some of the company’s plans recently. He compared the Nokia Lumia 800 to the BMW 5 Series too.

Spotify Now Available On Windows Phone


Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has added Spotify to the Windows Phone Marketplace. Spotify was designed for Windows Phone Mango and they said that it took time to make it look perfectly Metro. The app is very responsive and easy to navigate. You can see the playlist info from the live tile and the app gives you the ability to pin your favorite playlists on the home screen. [Gizmodo]

Windows Phone Team Scouts Former WebOS Developers

What will happen to all the webOS developers now that HP has shown them the door? Microsoft’s Brandon Watson offered them a deal to switch to Windows Phones and they jumped at the chance. He initially tweeted, “To Any Published WebOS Devs: We’ll give you what you need to be successful on #WindowsPhone, incl.free phones, dev tools, and training, etc.” The response? As The Next Web reports, more than 500 emails in less than 24 hours.

Windows Phone GM Leaves Microsoft After 21 Years to Launch Startup

After 21 years at Microsoft, Windows Phone general manager Charlie Kindel is leaving the company to launch a startup. GeekWire reports that his final missive to the Windows Phone team said, “I may stop using some Microsoft products now that I’m out of here. But not Windows Phone. The BEST product Microsoft has ever built.” Kindel isn’t revealing the nature of his next venture yet, but confirms that the company is angel funded and has “a great core team” and “a great idea.”
