Pizza Hut Launches An Xbox 360 App With Order Customization

Microsoft and Pizza Hut have worked together on launching an Xbox Live app that lets users order pizza directly from the Xbox 360 console.  The Xbox app shows Pizza Hut’s menu and lets users customize their toppings and sides.  The order can be put together using Kinect motion controls, voice commands, and the Xbox controller.  Users can also link their Xbox and PizzaHut.com accounts to save their order settings to make future orders faster and find deals at their local restaurants.

Court Rules That Motorola Cannot Use FRAND Patents For Xbox 360 Injunction

Motorola Mobility attempted to ban the Xbox 360 by claiming a patent violation.  The International Trade Commission agreed that Microsoft was infringing on the patents, but Microsoft was claiming that Motorola wanted too much money to license the standards-essential patents so they fought the ban.

Xbox Updates SmartGlass App For Android To Support 7-Inch Tablet

Microsoft built an Xbox 360 second screen app for Android called SmartGlass last month.  The app allows you to control the Microsoft Xbox 360 console using the Android devices.  Through the app you can navigate through the Dashboard, input text, and browse the web with zooming.  The app required at least an 800 x 480 resolution device at the time, but now the app has been updated to support 7-inch tablet devices.  You can download the app from Google Play now.

Microsoft Sold Over 750,000 Xbox Consoles On Black Friday

Microsoft Corporation sold over 750,000 Xbox consoles on Black Friday in the U.S.  according to UberGizmo.  This is not surprising to me because it seems like almost every retailer was offering some sort of deal on them.  I even picked up an Xbox 360 with Kinect bundle from Meijers for $199 since it came with a $40 coupon for the grocery store.  As a comparison, the Nintendo Wii U sold around 400,000 units.

Halo 4 By The Numbers: 4.5 Billion Kills Made In First 5 Days

Microsoft has unlocked an achievement for the game Halo 4.  In terms of financials, Halo 4 can be considered the largest entertainment launch of the year since they hit $220 million in one day of sales.  According to the Halo Waypoint blog, over one million people have already completed the single player campaign.  This means that players spent 13.5 million hours of gameplay for the campaign and over 31.4 million hours were spent playing the game in the first 5 days.  The most impressive number for the first 5 days: 4.5 billion kills.

Microsoft Xbox Music Coming Tomorrow To Xbox 360

The Microsoft Xbox Music service is expected to launch tomorrow on October 16th.  Xbox Music users will be able to choose from 30 million songs.  Xbox Music users will be able to stream free music and download tunes.  Microsoft Xbox Music is rumored to compete against services like Spotify and Apple iTunes.
