Monster Cable, a company that makes HDMI, audio, and video cables really likes their name. This is why they sued Monster Mini Golf with a claim that the small mini-golf franchise is violating their trademark. Monster Cable forced the Mini Golf company to pay $100 per franchise (about 22 locations at $2,200 total) and admit that Monster is the cable company’s trademark. Now Monster Cable is at it again by suing an automotive supplier company called Monster Transmission.
Monster Transmission is a small American company based in Florida. We all know how much of a financial position that the automotive supplier companies are in right now, don’t ya think? Like Engadget, we suggest finding cables from alternative companies that choose not to strong-arm companies with similar names.
