Motorola ATRIX 4G Smartphone Has A Full Firefox Browser and Flash Player


At CES Motorola has announced a new phone called the ATRIX 4G. The ATRIX 4G has a dual-core processor, 960×540 display, fingerprint reader, 802.11n support on 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, a 1,930mAh battery, HD video capture, and a “webtop mode.” When in webtop mode, you can run the full Mozilla Firefox 3.6 browser with Adobe Flash Player support. The phone runs on the Android 2.2 operating system. The ATRIX 4G will be available on AT&T in Q1 of this year. Below is the full press release:

Motorola Now Split Into Two Companies


Motorola has been split up into two companies on the New York Stock Exchange. Motorola Mobility Holdings is trading with the stock symbol MMI and Motorola Solutions is trading with the stock symbol MSI. Motorola Mobility will be focusing on consumer mobile phones and set-top boxes while Motorola Solutions will be working with enterprise and networking products. [CNET]

Motorola Mobility To Split From Motorola Inc. Starting January 4


Motorola Mobility will be splitting from Motorola, Inc. (NYSE:MOT) on the New York Stock Exchange starting January 4th. Shareholders in Motorola Inc. will get one share of every 8 Motorola Inc. shares they hold when the companies split. Motorola Mobility will trade under the symbol MMI on the NYSE. This transaction will be tax-free. The remainder of the company will be changing to Motorola Solutions, which will oversee the company’s public safety and enterprise businesses.
