Peter Currie Joins New Relic’s Board Of Directors

New Relic is an application performance management (APM) company that has raised $115 million in funding from several investors.   New Relic has 300 employees and 50,000 customers including ESPN, Comcast, Groupon, and Airbnb.  New Relic captures 125 billion metrics on a daily basis on the performance of about 1.4 million applications.  New Relic is nearing profitability and they have just hired Silicon Valley veteran Peter Currie.

New Relic is a service that lets you pinpoint and solve performance issues in your Ruby, Java, .NET, Python, Android, and iOS applications with real user, application, and server monitoring.  The company recently launched over 50 plugins to allow customers a way to monitor more of their infrastructure.  There are plugins for MySQL, Memcached, CouchDB, Amazon Web Services, Riak, Redis, and F5 Networks.  New Relic is not charging for these plugins.
