You may remember the launch of the Olympus E-620, the 12.3 megapixel with a 2.7″ tilt and swivel LCD.  Olympus now has a cheaper version of the E-620 called the E-600.  The E-600 doesn’t have the same backlit buttons that the E-620 has.

The E-600 also does not have the same art filter mode that the E-620 has.  The E-600 also does not have the same two-shot multi exposure mode and the aspect mask control that the E-620 has.  The E-600 costs $600 and has a kit for a 14-42mm f3.5/5.6 Zuiko zoom lens. The aspect ratio is 4:3. The E-600 is expected to ship by November.

The access is easy, and the results are fun and limitless.”

The E-620 has Autofocus in Live View and Phase Detection AF.  The camera uses Face Detection, even when the targets are moving.  The camera has a 4:3 aspect ratio and can be set to 16:9, 3:2, and 6:6.

Availability will start in May 2009.  The estimated street price is about $699.99.  With a Zuiko Digital Zoom Lens, the price would be $799.99.
