Jason Calacanis Is Back To Blogging Again On PandoDaily


After Jason Calacanis quit blogging to create an e-mail newsletter instead, I thought he would not be back. After all he is busy running Mahalo, managing the LAUNCH conference, and podcasting on This Week In Startups. However Calacanis has proven to be an effective multi-tasker once again by joining PandoDaily is a regular columnist. Calacanis is best known for selling his company Weblogs Inc. to AOL for $30 million. Weblogs Inc. was the parent company of websites like TUAW, Joystiq, Download Squad, and Engadget.

PandoDaily Removes Michael Arrington and MG Siegler As Contributors


The PandoDaily tech blog has removed CrunchFund partners Michael Arrington and MG Siegler as contributors. PandoDaily has also removed Arrington from the board of directors. Arrington said “This wasn’t a complete surprise to me, the company notified me last week that they weren’t happy that I and MG Siegler (my partner at CrunchFund) were going to speak at TechCrunch Disrupt this coming May.”

Sarah Lacy’s PandoDaily Raises $2.5 Million


Sarah Lacy is the author of “Once You’re Lucky, Twice You’re Good” and a columnist at BusinessWeek. Michael Arrington hired her to write for TechCrunch.com, but she quit shortly after the technology blog was acquired by AOL. Today it was announced that Lacy has started a new website called PandoDaily and it is backed with $2.5 million in funding. PandoDaily is a daily technology news blog and it will focus on the startup community. The website name was inspired by a colony of trees in Utah called Pando Trees.
