Earlier this month, Microsoft’s Shane Kim reported to VentureBeat that he firmly believes that the XBox 360 has a life cycle through 2015. Gaming consoles generally have a 10 year life cycle or slightly longer before becoming obsolete. However Kim’s views slightly contradict the views of EA executive Patrick Soderland in terms of being able to push the console to its limits.

“We’ve maxed out the 360, but we haven’t maxed out the PS3? stated Soderland in an interview with Official Xbox Magazine. “We’ll see developers inside [Electronic Arts] getting to understand the PS3 better and we’re getting more power out of PS3 right now.” Soderland is a Senior VP of EA Games in Europe.

Even though Soderland said that the 360 is maxed out, he still admitted that it is his favorite console and he cannot wait to see what they do with Project Natal.
